Yes, parking in downtown Regina sucks but that doesn’t mean it’s the responsibility of area businesses to provide change for meters. Do you know where shops, restaurants, delis and pubs get change? We have to get it from banks, and you should too. Three times a week, our business goes to our local branch with a stack of bills so we’ll have change for our customers. It’s something we have to do — and we do with pleasure — but it’s too much to expect us to provide parking change to someone who’s not even spending money in our store. That’s not our responsibility as a business. Go to a bank like we do, and get your own “two toonies and a loonie” — there are more than enough banks downtown. Or just plan ahead, and keep meter money in your glove box.

BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT FOR METERS Queen City Confidential is an open forum for Prairie Dog readers to anonymously share their petty rants, workplace gripes, romantic woes and complaints about friends and family. You can also remind adult humans to be responsible for themselves but good luck with that. E-mail your submission to confidential@prairiedogmag.com (type CONFIDENTIAL in the subject field). Change everyone’s names and identifying details. Submissions must be 100-200 words and don’t expect us to write ’em for you — that’s not our responsibility as a business!
