Being hit by lighting.

From NPR:

After the U.S. women’s soccer team beat North Korea 2-0 on Tuesday in the first round of the 2011 Women’s World Cup, North Korea manager Kwang Min Kim said his team’s loss may have been because some of its players were recently struck by lightning.

The post goes on to note that, on the day the manager cited, there were thunderstorms in Pyongyang, so it is possible that Thor or some other thunder god is responsible for the outcome of a soccer match. It’s just nice to know they care.

UPDATE: Ah balls. I make the loosing/losing mistake more times than I would like to admit, and I made it in the headline here, as pointed in the comments. Fixed.
