Cold In The Morning: Brrrrr

6-in-the-morning1 THE HEADLINE SAYS “WINTER SINKS TO A NEW LOW IN REGINA” It is very very very very very very very very cold. We’re talking minus-51 with the wind chill. School buses have been cancelled! Hundreds of Saskatonians lost their power! Who can  guess how many T-shirts I’m wearing under my zip-up thing? (Note: Steve always wears T-shirts.)  Anyway, it’s supposed to get up to minus-1 on Thursday.

2 WEATHERING WEATHER Thirty-thousand Newfoundlanders are in day five of a blackout. Montreal has ice trouble. Ontario roads are dangerous. Parts of the U.S. have been hit with the coldest temperatures in decades. The phrase “polar vortex” is in play. Brr.

3 DOES ALL THIS COLD WEATHER MEAN SCIENTISTS ARE WRONG ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE? No.

4 IS THERE ANYTHING HAPPENING BESIDES COLD WEATHER? Yes.

5 DID KIM JONG-UN REALLY FEED HIS UNCLE TO DOGS? No.

6 CANADA’S JUNIOR HOCKEY TEAM HAZ NO MEDALS Let the hand-wringing begin.

GOT ANYTHING ELSE? Well, this snow shark is pretty neat.

  1. Love, love, LOVE the snow shark. Makes me want to go kick down the pathetic snowman built by my neighbour’s annoying kids and yell, “Pffttt, amateurs!” Not sure if I’ll do it right now, or wait until morning. Thanks for the inspiration, Whitworth.
