Fougere Reveals Campaign Platform

Good news for all the people who were wondering…  Councillor Michael Fougere announced his mayoral campaign platform. I missed the event because because because, but every other media outlet in the city it seems was there so there’s no lack of coverage. Here’s Newstalk’s Pat Book’s take.

As for highlights… his key platform concepts are, “Manage and Prepare for Sustainable Growth,” “Provide value for your tax dollars,” “Nurture a vibrant, safe and inviting community” and “Provide strong leadership and credibility.”

And the specific points he wants to address are affordable housing, the Regina Revitalization Initiative, maximizing your tax dollar and making Regina a safe and inviting place to live.

So there you go. Feel free to discuss below.

  1. Considering that the City just bought all that prime land from the province – wanna bet that ‘affordable housing’ comes from giving away (or selling) cheap land to developer friendlies? Because everyone knows that developers can’t make 90-135% profit without getting some kind of compensation to lower the cost by 2%.
