We didn’t have anybody in Toronto last month when all the bullshit around the G8 and G20 summits went down. Like most Reginans, we followed it through news reports provided by mainstream and alternative media. Here’s a link to a post Stephen Whitworth did after the summits concluded.

All the world leaders and their triple digit staffs have long departed T.O., but concern continues to mount about how demonstrators were treated by police during the event. Saturday (July 17) at 11 a.m. a rally is planned for the Scarth St. Mall to  protest the heavy-handed manner in which police acted to shut-down otherwise peaceful demonstrations and arrest participants.

The rally will begin on the north side of the mall, then proceed up 11th Ave to Regina Police Headquarters on 17 block Osler. Speaking will be five Reginans who were in Toronto for the summit — Garson Hunter, Mona Hill, Jim Hutchings, Brendan Pyle and Christina Lang.
