Nina Simone was born Eunice Kathleen Waymon on February 21, 1933. She died seven years ago.

What a privilege it would be to sit in the same room with someone so alive, so intent.

  2. On a related note to comment #1, it’s kind of demoralizing when you realize the most inspirational moments in art history were really just schizophrenic episodes the artist was suffering, with some exceptions, like Dylan, Cohen’s genius.
