Mid-Winter Blues Festival

This year’s festival goes from Feb. 27-March 1. The Thursday night show is headlined by Tommy Castro & the Painkillers, and also includes performances  by Dan Silljer, Mill Street Blues and Random Groove. It’s being held at the Royal Sask Museum. Tickets are $30, and things should get going around 7:30 p.m.

Friday night the action shifts to the Casino Regina Show Lounge. Headliner is Charlie Musselwhite, and he’ll be sharing the bill with Carolyn Wonderland and Morgan Davis. Start time is again 7:30 p.m., and tickets are $40.

Saturday’s concert is also at Casino Regina. Headlining that night is the Pat Travers Band, with Omar & the Howlers and Monkey Junk also performing. Tickets and start time are $40 and 7:30 p.m.

Also on Saturday, there’s afternoon blues shows at Lancaster Taphouse where Little Chicago, Evan Chambers & the Third Alarm and Jeff Mertick & the Blue Beat Singers will be playing. Also, at Bushwakker there’s a showcase hosted by Jeff “Redbeard” Corbett with Jeff Mertick & Ramiro Sepulveda, Colin Wiest, the Stillhouse Poets and Shane Reoch performing.
