Oh. My God.

U of R president Vianne Timmons announces an Memorandum of Understanding between FNUC and the U of R (Leader-Post).

Rob Norris announces that the province will restore funding to FNUC, and is pressuring Chuck Strahl to do the same (CBC Sask, CJME)

Right now, I feel like Hunter S. Thompson the day Nixon got impeached.

  1. Wow .. you’re not kidding. I didn’t see that coming. In fact, you will see a very rare tip o’ the hat to the Saskatchewan Party on my site …. [pinches himself]

  2. Critical mass arrived: the FSIN voted in an educated, reform-minded chief; the federal and provincial governments said “Enough’s enough” and had the guts to pull all funding until the mess was cleaned up; the old-guard FSIN and FNUC Board of Governors realised they didn’t have a leg to stand on; the students and faculty demanded the return of the scholarly and globally minded FNUC in place of the parochial Plains Cree hegemony; the interim Board chose a sound administrator and canned those it needed to; the U of R swept aside political correctness in favour of real assistance and capacity building. Does that just about do it, Stephen?
