Most crafters know how to work around the weather when participating in an outdoor show and sale. Still, I hope the weather cooperates for the 37th incarnation of this wildly popular event which runs at the MacKenzie Art Gallery from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. today.
Local artesians have already absorbed one hit this summer when the Cathedral Village Arts Festival Street Fair got semi-rained out in late May. Showers are in the forecast for today. If it does rain, the over 100 participating crafters will still have all sorts of pottery, woodwork, jewelery and metal work for sale. And there’s always plenty to see and do inside the gallery itself. But plenty of stuff is always planned for outdoors like live music via a partnership with the Regina Folk Festival (this year featuring the Lazy MKs and Belle Plaine), children’s entertainment and booths to procure tasty food and drink.
It’s all part of the Bazaart experience. And it’d be a shame if the weather curtailed things too much.
Another event that’s happening today that would benefit from sunshine would be the bus tour of local homes and businesses powered by solar energy that Clean Green Regina is hosting. If it’s not soldout already, the bus leaves the Royal Sask Museum at 1 p.m. and the tour concludes with a social at LaBodega at 4 p.m. Tix $15. 522-6543.
