Born in Hamilton, Diana Panton (pictured) is described as a rising star on the Canadian jazz scene. As a 19-year-old, she was able to hone her skills as a vocalist by studying at the Banff Centre for the Arts. She has four albums to her credit, with the most recent being To Brazil With Love which celebrates the samba and bossa nova musical traditions of that South American country.

Tonight, she’s in town to play a show at LeBistro (3850 Hillsdale) that’s being presented by Regina Jazz Society. Doors are at 7:30 p.m., and tickets areĀ $10 RJS Members, $15 Non-Members, $5 Students.

I couldn’t find any video of Panton performing live, but here’s a link to an audio recording of her singing “And I Love Him”.
