Pick Of The Day: Dwight Yoakam

His best days are probably behind him, but Dwight Yoakam is still a standard-bearer for authentic rootsy country-rock in the U.S. In 2012 he released an album called 3 Pears that included collaborations with the likes of Beck and Kid Rock. He’s also done some acting in movies and TV over the last decade or so.

Tonight, Yoakam is in town to play a show at the Casino Regina Lounge (show time 8 p.m., tickets $65 and $70). To close, here’s video of Yoakam performing the title track off his latest album at a studio broadcast in Hollywood last year:

  1. I liked his roles in the movies Crank 1 & 2. His Dr. character was hilarious! Made those crappy movies easier to watch.
