Pick Of The Day: Holy Motors

Probably won’t be to everyone’s taste. But it’s got a 90 per cent positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes. So if you’re a film fan, and don’t mind subtitled films (or alternately, are fluent in French) this is a flick you may want to check out. It’s a fantasy drama written by Leo Carax, and it’s about a man named Mr. Oscar who has the magical capacity to move between multiple lives. One moment he’s a beggar, the next he’s a captain of industry, or an assassin, or a monster.

Holy Motors  screens tonight and Saturday at the RPL Film Theatre at 9:30 p.m., and Friday and Sunday at 7 p.m. Here’s the trailer:

Author: Gregory Beatty

Greg Beatty is a crime-fighting shapeshifter who hatched from a mutagenic egg many decades ago. He likes sunny days, puppies and antique shoes. His favourite colour is not visible to your puny human eyes. He refuses to write a bio for this website and if that means Whitworth writes one for him, so be it.
