Pick of the Day (Tomorrow Edition): Joel Fafard

Son of noted Saskatchewan sculptor Joe Fafard, who was recently honoured with three commemorative stamps featuring samples of his work by Canada Post, Joel (pictured) first made his mark as a folk and blues style instrumental musician. Lately, he’s begun to write songs with lyrics as well that expand on his always entertaining between-songs monologues about life in small town and rural Canada.

Thursday he has a show at Artesian on 13th at 8 p.m. To give you a taste, here’s video of Fafard performing “Don’t Let Your Deal Go Down”.
