Pick of the Day: Kiran Ahluwalia

Kiran Ahluwalia is a familiar face to Regina music fans, having appeared on the main stage at the Regina Folk Festival in  2003. Tonight, she returns as part of the RFF Concert Series.

Born in India, Ahluwalia immigrated with her family to Toronto as a child. Most of her music is based on ancient Persian and Punjabi poems called ghazals.

Tonight’s concert is at Artesian on 13th at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 adv. To close, here’s video of Ahluwalia performing live in 2009.

Later tonight, Saskatoon blues rocker Jordan Cook is playing O’Hanlon’s Pub. Here’s video of him performing “Follow Me Down” at the Odeon in Saskatoon.
