Pick of the Day: Ladies of the Canyon

Named after an acclaimed 1970 album by Joni Mitchell that included such hits as “Big Yellow Taxi” and “Woodstock”, Ladies of the Canyon are an up and coming country band from Montreal composed of Senja Sargeant, Maia Davies, Jasmine Bleile and Anna Ruddick. Tonight, they’re playing the Exchange with Old Man Luedecke. Doors are at 8 p.m., and tickets are $10.

To close, here’s the video for the single “Follow Me Down” off the Ladies of the Canyon’s 2010 album Haunted Woman. And here’s video of Old Man Luedicke performing “Joy of Cooking” in Halifax in 2009.
