Pick of the Day: Musicals & More

Two classics are being performed in the city in the next few days. First off at Conexus Arts Centre, there’s a touring production of Fiddler On the Roof — the Broadway musical about a Jewish family’s struggles in Tsarist Russia. It plays tonight and tomorrow night at 8 p.m. Tickets are $82-$103.25, and can be obtained by calling 525-9999. And to give you a taste, here’s some video from a 2009 Broadway production.

Nov. 2-6, Regina Lyric Musical Theatre is presenting You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. It’s based on the beloved Charles Schultz comic strip Peanuts, of course, and will be held Wednesday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. at the MacKenzie Art Gallery. Tickets are $25 adults, and $15 students. For more info call 522-7556.

Finally, in non-music related theatre, there’s a student production of Leanna Brodie’s play Schoolhouse at University of Regina Theatre. It’s a play about high school cliques, and it runs Nov. 2-5 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are 15 adult, $10 Student & Senior, with U of R Students Free. For more info call 585-5562.
