While not as dominant as they were last season, the Red Sox still occupy first place in the Western Major Baseball League East Division standings. Swift Current, meanwhile, is in first place in the Central Division, and along with Medicine Hat and Okotoks, has one of the best records in the WMBL. Tonight, the two teams clash at Currie Field (7:05 p.m. start, with tickets $10 Adults, $5 Youth 5-14, with under 5 free.)
Pitchingwise, I think the Red Sox have been pretty strong. They’ve struggled at the plate, though, at least compared to last year. But come playoff time I expect they’ll still be in the hunt for a third straight WMBL title — especially if the bats heat up when the weather hopefully does in July.
