Pick of the Day: Rural Alberta Advantage

This is a bit of a toss up. Nashville Pussy’s at the Distrikt tonight with Civet (tix are $10 adv., $15 at the door), and I’ve always had a bit of a soft spot in my heart for that hard-rocking American outfit with the strong Saskatchewan connection. For more info on them, here’s a link to an article Chris Morin wrote in the current edition of Planet S. And to give you a taste, here’s video of the band (in Paris, of all places) performing “Struttin’ Cock”. And if you like that, here’s “Piece of Ass” from the same show.

Now on to Rural Alberta Advantage (pictured). They’re at the Exchange tonight with Pepper Rabbitt and Imaginary Cities. Here’s a link to James Brotheridge’s profile of the Toronto-based band in the current edition of prairie dog. And here’s the video for the band’s song “In the Summertime”.
