Pick of the Day: Salmon Fishing In The Yemen

Directed by Lasse Hallstrom (My Life as a Dog), with a screenplay by Simon Beaufoy (Slumdog Millionaire), this film stars Ewan McGregor as a British fisheries expert who is recruited by a wealthy sheik who has a dream of bringing salmon fishing to his desert country.

Salmon Fishing in the Yemen screens at the RPL Theatre tonight at 9 p.m. Here’s the trailer:

Author: Gregory Beatty

Greg Beatty is a crime-fighting shapeshifter who hatched from a mutagenic egg many decades ago. He likes sunny days, puppies and antique shoes. His favourite colour is not visible to your puny human eyes. He refuses to write a bio for this website and if that means Whitworth writes one for him, so be it.

  1. no, that is at the end of July!!

Pick of the day should have been the Walt Stillman film – Damsels in Distress. He is a sort of American Eric Rohmer, with shades of Woody Allen, and an underlying Jane Austen.

But I do look forward to Salmon Fishing in Yeman!
