Pick of the Day: The Voyageur’s Soundtrack

“Take a trip and never leave the farm” was a lyric in Jim Stafford’s 1974 comedic ode to cannibas called “Wildwood Weed”.

Tonight’s Masterworks Concert by the Regina Symphony Orchestra offers a similar opportunity — to take a trip, that is, without leaving the comfort of your seat at Conexus Arts Centre. And that’s a musical trip, by the way, not the other kind. It’s all courtesy of a program that features work by composers from of seven different countries: Armenia, Austria, Czech Republic, England, Finland, France and Italy.

The baton drops for The Voyageur’s Soundtrack at 8 p.m. For ticket info contact 1-866-973-9614.

Here’s one of the pieces on the program, as performed by the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra in 2009:
