I could be mistaken but I believe it was the Schnitzel Haus/Venue/Channel One/State/Distrikt that started the tradition of Boxing Day Bashes in Regina. Now that that club has disappeared from the scene, others have arisen to take up the torch.

Like Hallowe’en before it, Boxing Day falls on Hump Day this year. As far as getting your shake on, it’s not ideal. But look at it this way. Come tomorrow you’ll have been in the Yuletide hotbox for three or four days. It’s time to cut loose. So here’s a breakdown of stuff that’s happening on Dec. 26:

At Bushwakker, Redbeard is hosting “Home for the Holidaze”. Performing will be Buffalo Narrows and Whitmore & Sons, and things should get going at 8 p.m. At McNally’s Tavern there’s the regular jam night/open stage. The SCES Exchange and Club is also hosting a BDB — although at this point details are still a little sketchy (as in “unclear”, as opposed to “disreputable/dangerous”) as to who will be performing.

Finally, at O’Hanlon’s Pub Def 3 will be performing with The Spoils. James Brotheridge posted on the latter group awhile back, and here’s the video for Def 3’s new single “Life Ain’t Fare”:
