I haven’t been yet, but this is a nice idea. Get a few writers together at a trendy downtown coffeeshop on a Monday evening and have them read.

More of that kind of stuff’s happening in Regina now. Improv shows, acoustic music, academic discussions like Coffeehouse Controversies. It’s good to see.

Tonight Saskatoon mystery novelist (the Russell Quant series) Anthony Bidulka (pictured), Regina poet Anne Campbell and writer Shelley Banks, who has roots in B.C., Jamaica, Cayman Islands and Regina, will be reading.

It’s at Aegean Coast (1901 Hamilton St.), 7 p.m. Free.
