On Wednesday, Sept. 30 the Regina Folk Festival presents the first concert in its 2015-16 concert series with Canadian singer/song-writer Ron Sexsmith.

Born in St. Catherines, Sexsmith started writing songs as a teenager, and has since gone on to release 14 albums — the most recent being Carousel One in March. While mainstream commercial success has largely eluded Sexsmith,  his reputation as a songwriter is pretty solid, and performers as diverse as Feist, Elvis Costello, Paul McCartney and Sheryl Crow have covered his material.

Again, the RFF concert goes next Wednesday. The venue is the Exchange Can-Sask Sound Stage at College and Broad, and the support act is B.C. folk artist Joshua Hyslop. Doors are at 7:30 p.m., and you can visit the RFF website for ticket information.
