RSO Pops Concert

No pick of the day today. Instead, I’ll give you a heads up about a concert that the Regina Symphony Orchestra is presenting on Saturday Oct. 6. In past years, as part of its always popular Pops Series, the RSO has collaborated with the likes of Jason Plumb & the Willing and Jeffery Straker. This year, the orchestra is joining forces with Halifax-based singer-songwriter Meaghan Smith who in 2011 scored a Juno for Best New Artist.

The concert goes at Conexus Arts Centre at 8 p.m. To give you a sense of what to expect, here’s the video for “Heartbroken” off Smith’s 2011 album The Cricket’s Orchestra:
