I assume you’re all recovered from any and all after-effects of St. Patrick’s Day on Monday. If so, here’s a heads up about an annual musical showcase that’s being being held at Bushwakker on March 22.

Bands that will be performing include the Dead South, Mario Lepage, Sound Society, Blake Berglund, Little Criminals and Slim City Pickers. At stake will be possible slots in three popular music festivals that take place each year in Saskatchewan: Ness Creek (which goes near Big River July 17-20), Gateway (which goes in Bengough July 25-27) and the Regina Folk Festival which will be held in Victoria Park Aug. 8-10.

Sask. Sampler will start Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Bushwakker. Tickets are $10. To give you a taste of what to expect, here’s the local bluegrass group the Dead South performing the song “Long Gone”:
