Six In The Morningish: Bros In Trucks

6-in-the-morning1 WEATHER OR NOT YOU LIKE IT It’s been cold ’round these here parts. So cold. Probably better off here than in Toronto, though.

2 TAKE A WILD GUESS WHO THE CANADIAN PRESS NEWS-MAKER OF THE YEAR IS? It couldn’t be anyone else.

3 WHAT’S NEXT FOR PROSTITUTION LAWS? Can our federal government made of clueless men who think we live in an imaginary 1950s world that never actually existed develop practical legislation to govern the sex trade? Bwah ha ha, good one.

4 LET THE RIOT RAGE The last incarcerated member of the band Pussy Riot has been released thanks to the Russian government’s face-saving amnesty law. Russia would’ve got the poop kicked out of its reputation if these high-profile dissidents had remained in jail during the Olympics.

5 SPEAKING OF RUSSIA The inventor of the AK-47 passed away at the venerable age of 94.

6 IS PEDOPHILIA A SEXUAL ORIENTATION? Sounds like “yup”. Makes sense, actually. No one would ever choose to be sexually attracted to children. If you’re sexually attracted to children your choices are lifetime celibacy or acting on your urges and committing monstrous evil.

MORE ANTI-TRUCK BIGOTRY If you only see one terrible country music video this year, make it this one. It was put together by Entertainment Weekly’s Grady Smith. If watching this doesn’t fill you with hatred and revulsion, you’re probably a bro. A terrible, horrible bro.

  1. Would really like to see mainstream rock, pop and hip-hop versions of “Why___ Music was Awful in 2013”

  2. (6) A lot of folks will see the sentiments expressed in this article as the thin edge of the wedge, and the drawing of a line that they will not cross.
You have no kids, or grandchildren, do you, Stephen? Do you know anyone who was victimized as a child by a pedophile? Many of us who do will find it difficult to sympathize with or trust people who claim to be “innately” sexually oriented towards children.
Consenting adults: one thing. Child exploitation: quite another.
And, in contradiction to the person quoted in the article, if there was an “innate repulsion” towards incest, there would be no cases of incest. Refer back to a week or so ago, to that incestuous Australian family. I rest my case.

  3. Whoa, Master Whitworth! Another attack on the bros and on country music! And, so soon! Yes, some of it’s nasty but we can say that about everything. Even people. But, don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater. Here’s hoping the Xmas spirit seizes you and brings you a new appreciation for some of the better tunes of all genres. After all, there’s nothing a pat on the butt or a lil of Miley’s daddy can’t solve.
