Televised Leaders Debate Set for Oct. 25

CBC is reporting that there will be a televised leaders’ debate on Oct. 25. It will be broadcast on CBC, Global and CTV, and will feature only Sask Party leader Brad Wall and NDP leader Dwain Lingenfelter. Green Party leader Victor Lau and Liberal leader Ryan Bater are not being invited to participate. Here’s a link to the story.

  1. There doesn’t seem to be any reaction from Bater on this. I don’t know about Lau. It’s probably wrong, but in this case, when I really want to see Wall challenged directly by somebody, anybody, for the first time in 4 years, I’m kind of stoked. I just hope the moderator let’s them go. Sure Wall will just deflect every single criticism and offer nothing of substance, except for a lot of hoo-hah about the glory of Saskatchewan circa Fall 2007-Present, but Lingenfelter may be able to land some hits w/o one of the other leaders interrupting.

  2. #1 I wouldn’t call a 3rd or 4th opinion to a Q as “interrupting”.
I still don’t like that only “those 2 ” get to hash it out, at the moment.
The big 3 local media still have 2 weeks to fix this wroning of “democracy” in action.
Any Q’s from joe/jane public offered?
Mabye Access can do a better job, they had a live phone-in debate ( all fed cantidates ) a couple of yrs. ago.
