The Dead South & Belle Plaine

These two shows by stalwarts of the local folk/country/bluegrass/jazz scenes are being presented by Regina Folk Festival as part of its Concert Series. Unlike other shows on the RFF calendar, it’s being held at Evraz Place as part of Agribition. With thousands of people in town to get up to speed on the latest in livestock and ranching in general, it’s a great chance for both acts to gain some valuable exposure.

On Friday Nov. 28, the Dead South will perform at the Ag Ex Pavilion. Start time is around 9:45 p.m., although that depends on when the rodeo winds up. The concert is free with rodeo admission, and you can get more details at the RFF website.

On Saturday 29, Belle Plaine will play the same venue under the same arrangements i.e. Ag Ex Pavilion, approximate 9:45 p.m. start time, free admission for rodeo ticket holders. I believe Blake Berglund will also play that night but that’s separate from the RFF concert.

To give everyone a taste of what to expect, here’s video of Belle Plaine and her band playing the song “Squared Up” at a house concert earlier this year:
