Presented by the Baroque period ensemble Per Sonatori, this concert goes at Knox Metropolitan Church on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 8 p.m.

Guest artist is Madeleine Owen who plays the theorbo which is a large-sized member of the lute family. Owen apparently grew up in Regina, and during her time back in the city she will also deliver a free lecture at Knox Met on Jan. 29 at 7:30 p.m. where she’ll speak about the theorbo and its role in Baroque music.

Joining Owen as guest artists in The Language of Love are soprano  Kerri Cornish Morton and counter-tenor Jon Achtzehner. Works by early Italian composers Scarlatti, Monteverdi and Dall’Abaco will be performed, along with a featured solo by Owen composed by Giovanni Kapsberger.

Again, the concert goes at Knox Met Church on Saturday at 8 p.m.
