Today’s Gay-Related Scotland News

Two stories, both from the Guardian. First — Scotland should soon legalize same-sex marriages! Hooray! Deputy First Minister Nicola Sturgeon is quoted as saying, “We believe that in a country that aspires to be an equal and tolerant society, as we do in Scotland, then this is the right thing to do.” Dead on.

Second — the incoming Catholic archbishop of Glasgow said some shitty things about a dead MP. Boo! From the article:

In response to a question from an audience member about the suicide of a gay author in the US, the bishop said: “If what I have heard is true about the relationship between the physical and mental health of gay men, if it is true, then society is being very quiet about it.

“Recently in Scotland there was a gay Catholic MP who died at the age of 44 or so, and nobody said anything, and why his body should just shut down at that age? Obviously he could have had a disease that would have killed anybody. But you seem to hear so many stories about this kind of thing, but society won’t address it.”

  1. Your Grace, with all due respect, it sounds like you aren’t hearing much outside of the voices inside your head. That is a sign of the devil infiltrating your being. Have you considered exorcism?
