Today’s Mystery Guest

Identify this woman.

Author: Gregory Beatty

Greg Beatty is a crime-fighting shapeshifter who hatched from a mutagenic egg many decades ago. He likes sunny days, puppies and antique shoes. His favourite colour is not visible to your puny human eyes. He refuses to write a bio for this website and if that means Whitworth writes one for him, so be it.

  1. Okay, here’s a hint. She’s the governor of a southern-western U.S. state where a not inconsiderable number of western Canadians own property and vacation in the winter.

  2. That’s right Jeff, she’s the governor of Arizona, and she recently signed into law a bill designed to crack down on illegal immigration that critics say is racist and all but compells police to engage in racial profiling by investigating anyone who, based on even the slightest reason, they might suspect is in the U.S. illegally. Yesterday, tens of thousands of Americans took to the streets to protest the law. Calls have also been made to launch an economic boycott of Arizona. Included is a request from officials in San Francisco that the 2011 Major League Baseball all-star game, which is currently scheduled to be held in Phoenix, be moved elsewhere if the law isn’t repealed.
