You can rest easy tonight Regina. The Regina Police Service was on the ball today, and dispatched ten officers to Victoria Park to ticket and confiscate the personal property of 100 or so people who had gathered to celebrate 4-20.

The inclement weather probably kept some people at home, where they could toke in more comfortable surroundings. But the cops still showed up to flex their law enforcement muscles and fight yet another skirmish in the never-ending war on drugs. Good job guys!

Meanwhile, in Vancouver an estimated crowd of around 15,000 gathered outside the Vancouver Art Gallery in a similar celebration of cannabis that, for some reason, didn’t trigger the same type of hardcore police response. I’m not sure why.

Here’s the CBC reports from Regina and Vancouver.
