What Your Problem Is

Sure, it sounds awfully contentious to call you out on your problem. After all, who can say what your specific problem is, since we’re all unique snowflakes slipping down through the invisible atmospheres of our lives, each charting our own course to oblivion, encountering the million machined parts of the day and dealing with it in our own ways, thank you very much? How in all that welter of specificity and individual struggle can anyone presume to know the core problem of even one’s closest friend or lover? How, waking from troubled dreams into darkness and perceiving the slumbering form of one’s partner, can anyone say what that person’s problem is? It can’t be done. But your problem is that you haven’t listened to this song by Lambchop. And you should. It would really solve your problem.

  1. Often, problems are solved by flossing.

I’ve got a Lambchop album called Nixon, yes, that’s why I bought it. New one sounds good.
