Clad head to toe in white, Regina’s pop heavyweights Library Voices and more colourfully dressed Rah Rah took to the stage at the Exchange Friday night in the name of flood relief for the Exchange and both bands celebrating vinyl record releases.  Opening performances from the Forest City Lovers and Andy Shauf rounded out the bill.

The power pop evening felt a bit like a best of Regina showcase in the indie band category. Library Voices was in fine form on a cluttered stage, having a blast and delivering their trademark sound that kept the crowd’s toes a-tappin’ and hips a-jiving.  Rah Rah’s performance was a stiff whiskey short of perfection but they did have a confetti cannon. Both bands, helped by bust air conditioning that had the room sweltering, kept a very-near-capacity crowd sweating like mad and begging for more.

The coming together of great music in the name of the Exchange was a phenomenal community experience. As Regina’s most important music and culture hub the Exchange is critical to the growth of Regina’s local music. A great show that was great to be a part of. These bands and this venue is why Regina will continue becoming awesome musically. If you missed it – you missed out.
