Lindi Ortega

Born in Toronto, Ortega is a roots/country singer-songwriter who now calls Nashville home. Her last two albums, Little Red Boots (2010) and Cigarettes & Truckstops (2012), have been long-listed for the Polaris Prize. Another highlight on Oretga’s c.v. is a recent tour with California punk/rock band Social Distortion.

Thursday, Nov. 7 Oretga is in town to play a show at the Exchange. Opening for her will be Devin Cuddy — son of Blue Rodeo’s Jim Cuddy. To give you a taste of what Ortega’s music is like here’s the video for the title track off her latest album:

Greg Beatty is a crime-fighting shapeshifter who hatched from a mutagenic egg many decades ago. He likes sunny days, puppies and antique shoes. His favourite colour is not visible to your puny human eyes. He refuses to write a bio for this website and if that means Whitworth writes one for him, so be it.
