TRON: Legacy An IMAX 3D Experience opens tomorrow at the Kramer IMAX Theatre

Limited engagement: July 1 – August 7

Regina, Saskatchewan, June 30, 2011 – The Saskatchewan Science Centre today announced that the Kramer IMAX Theatre will be showing TRON: Legacy An IMAX 3D Experience for a limited engagement from July 1, 2011 to August 7, 2011.

TRON: Legacy is a 3D high-tech adventure set in a digital world that’s unlike anything ever captured on the big screen.

“The film was shot in 3D and includes more than 43 minutes of visually stunning footage specifically designed to maximize the screen for IMAX theatergoers,” says Sandy Baumgartner, Executive Director of the Saskatchewan Science Centre. “The amazing special effects combined with crystal-clear images, laser-aligned digital sound and maximized field of view provides a truly unique and immersive film experience.”

Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund), a rebellious 27-year-old, is haunted by the mysterious disappearance of his father Kevin Flynn (Oscar®-and Golden Globe®-winner Jeff Bridges), a man once known as the world’s leading video-game developer. When Sam investigates a strange signal sent from the old Flynn’s Arcade—a signal that could only come from his father—he finds himself pulled into a digital world where Kevin has been trapped for 20 years.

IMAX 3D offers crystal clear 3D images complemented by exhilarating state-of-the-art surround sound making audiences feel as though they are in the movie. IMAX 3D provides the most realistic and immersive 3D in the world. The giant screen—52 feet tall by 72 feet wide—adds to the larger-than-life movie viewing experience.

Saskatchewan’s only IMAX 3D theatre, the Kramer IMAX Theatre has welcomed more than 2.3 million film viewers since opening in 1991. The theatre completed conversion to IMAX 3D in October, 2010. Movie show times can be found on sasksciencecentre.com.

The Saskatchewan Science Centre is located at 2903 Powerhouse Drive, Regina, Saskatchewan S4N 0A1 (Take Wascana Drive east off Broad Street, on the north side of Wascana Lake). Please visit us online at sasksciencecentre.com.
