Since news of possible shenanigans in last May’s federal election broke in February, the Conservative Party of Canada has been in full “deny, deflect and demonize” mode.

Now comes news that Elections Canada has extended its investigation to Conservative Party headquarters in Ottawa. EC investigators are now certain that the list of Guelph voters who received fraudulent and misleading robocalls came from the Conservatives’ tightly guarded Constituent Information Management System.

That would seem to rule out any electoral misconduct by a rogue party underling. To access the database, you’d need high level authorization from the Conservative campaign team.
