This award-winning documentary starts a four night run at the RPL Theatre at 7 p.m. It’s directed by Lixin Fan and examines the annual migration of 130 million Chinese workers from factory towns in the south to their far-flung rural homes where they celebrate New Year’s with spouses, children and other family members they see only once a year.
Fan’s film, which was produced by Canadian filmmaker Daniel Cross, won the Grand Jury Prize for Best World Documentary at Sundance. Cross, by the way, will be at the Saskatchewan Filmpool (1822 Scarth) at 7 p.m. on May 26. If you’re interested in attending, call 757-8818.

As for music tonight, Flying Fox & the Hunter Gathers are at O’Hanlon’s Pub. At Casino Regina it’s Tango, which features the True Jive Pluckers with Linda Lee Thomas (piano) and Jonathan Goldman (bandoleum). Shows at 8 p.m., tix are $30, $35. And it’s a fundaiser for the Regina Jazz Society.
