The Thunder kick off the 2012 Prairie Football Conference season with a game against one of last season’s weaker teams the Edmonton Huskies. As I noted in the City Event listings in our Aug,. 9 edition, for fans of the home side, all eyes will be on highly-touted third year QB Asher Hastings. At 6’3” and 215 pounds, he has the physical tools to be a dominant QB in the league. Hastings spent most of last season backing up Wyatt Catley, but in week seven he did receive a start and led the Thunder to a 42-4 win over, ironically enough, the same team he and his teammates will be facing today.
Game time at Mosaic Stadium is 1 p.m.
