If you were at the Regina Folk Festival in 2012, you perhaps remember this Toronto-based synth-pop band that’s fronted by Katie Stelmanis.
Since that performance, the band has released its second CD Olympia. In June, Prairie Dog’s Aidan Morgan gave the disc a so-so review, saying that Stelmanis and crew had their moments but that the album tended to drag a bit in the middle.
Sunday night Austra is in town to play a show at the Exchange. No word yet on who the back-up band will be, but tickets are $18. To get you prepped, here’s the SF–themed video for a single off the new album called “Painful Like”:
