Pick of the Day: Vertigo Reading Series

With summer slowly seeping into existence tonight will be the season finale for Vertigo. To wind up things in style an extra special line-up has been assembled.

First off, the musical guest is Regina singer-songwriter Tyler Gilbert (see video for his song “Break Free” below).

On the lit side, there’s a special guest in the form of Ottawa poet Pearl Pirie. She’ll be joined by two emerging Regina artists Cassidy McFadzean (sister of Prairie Dog¬†illustrator Dakota) and Evie Ruddy. Regina’s newly crowned Slam Poetry Team will also take the stage with Leslie Cochrane, Johnny Trinh, Micaella Joy, Cat Abenstein and Shayna Stock all performing a piece.

Also in the works is a Canadian writer-themed trivia contest and a raffle. And it all starts at Crave Kitchen + Wine Bar (1925 Victoria Ave.) tonight at 7:30 p.m.
